This Southlake home looks like a castle with turrets, spires and arched windows

If you’ve always wanted to live in a castle, take a look at this Southlake home that sits on 1.51 acres. Designed with turrets, spires, arched windows and doorways, this 19,673-square-foot home looks just like a royal residence.

The home, on 3716 N. White Chapel Blvd., has eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms and four half bathrooms. The castle-like feel translates to the interior, where the home has carved wood details, grand entrances, large living spaces and rich tones throughout.

Listing agent Roxann Taylor of Engel and Völkers Dallas Southlake said the home’s design is unique because it blends old world appeal with a modern layout. Most other castle-inspired homes have closed-off rooms, but this one doesn’t.

“The whole floor plan on the first floor is more like what we have today: big, huge rooms all open to each other,” Taylor said.

The home was custom built in 2009. Double front doors with a detailed iron design lead into the home’s two-story foyer, from which you can see into multiple living spaces. The dining room and a library or study sit on either side of the foyer. The dining room features elaborate details on the paneling and a sparkling chandelier. The library is a two-story room with a fireplace on the lower level and a spiral staircase on one end that leads to the upper floor.

The home’s main living room has large windows on one side that overlook the property. A striking fireplace is flanked on either side by built-in bookcases and a large staircase sits on one end of the room and leads to the upper levels.

A stone wine-tasting room, with built-in wine storage and refrigerators, offers an additional seating area with a fireplace. The kitchen, breakfast room and family room have an open-concept design. The breakfast and family rooms have coffered ceilings, and the family room has more built-in bookcases and a fireplace.

The primary suite sits on the first level of the home. The bedroom has its own seating area and a fireplace. The primary bathroom has two showers, two toilets and two closets, according to the listing.

Of the remaining seven bedrooms, one is on the first level and the other six are on the second level.

The home has additional living spaces, including a 1,300-square-foot flex room above the garage. Taylor said the garage fits 12 cars. There’s also a home theater complete with a wet bar and an additional game room. Outside, the home has a pool.

The home is on the market for $5,000,000.
