This Richardson home has a Tudor-style design and wood floors sourced from a New Orleans dance hall

Take a look inside this Richardson home, and you’ll find plenty of character. Take the wood floors in the home’s main living spaces. Listing agent Heidi Young of Ebby Halliday said the antique pine floors were sourced from a New Orleans dance hall. There are antique metal gates on the wine room, also sourced from New Orleans.

The 5,900-square-foot home sits on a half-acre lot in the Canyon Creek Country Club neighborhood of Richardson.

Young called the home “a jewel of that neighborhood.”

The home has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and two half-bathrooms throughout the two floors. It was custom-built in 2002, but the kitchen and primary bathroom were recently updated, Young said. The main floor has multiple living spaces including a formal living and dining room and a downstairs office. A family room is open to the kitchen and a secondary dining space. The family room has vaulted ceilings with wood beams and doors along one wall that open to the backyard.

“The house is really gorgeous and elegant, but it’s inviting and warm and comfortable at the same time — it’s not stuffy,” Young said.

The primary suite is on the first level and has vaulted ceilings adorned with wood beams and plenty of natural light. The primary bathroom was recently updated and has a freestanding bathtub, dual vanities and a walk-in closet.

The remaining four bedrooms are on the second level of the home along with an additional living area. Outside, the home has a covered back patio for entertaining, an additional patio space with a fire pit, a pool, a spa and plenty of green space.

The home at 423 Fall Creek Drive in Richardson is listed for $2,389,000. It is currently under contract.
