Channel 5’s much-feared Hotel Inspector to face dirty and chaotic Loughborough guest house

One of TV’s most feared and formidable critics is set to descend upon a Loughborough guest house tonight in the return of Channel 5’s most popular shows.

The LG Thai Derm Spa and Guest House, on Leicester Road, survived the Covid-19 pandemic despite the major troubles the hospitality industry faced, but since then things have taken a turn for the worse. With chaotic management and dirty rooms, the guest house is struggling to fill up rooms and failing as a business.

It’s why no-nonsense hotel inspector Alex Polizzi will descend upon the guest house tonight, to have a visit herself before giving her trademark no holds-barred thoughts on the place.

The guest house was taken over by first-time hoteliers Hasmeeta and Bharat just before the pandemic after they fell in love with the Loughborough hotel’s unique Thai-themed offerings that include a spa as well as restaurant and 10 guest rooms. However, Alex, who has been TV’s fearsome Hotel Inspector since 2008, is needed as the business is in big trouble after Hasmeeta and Bharat ploughed their life savings into the venture.

Covid then cost the couple an even more sizeable sum, with things now in major disarray. For Alex, it’s a tough start to the new series as she’s enlisted to turn things around, but will the first-time hoteliers like the harsh truths?

Viewers will have to wait and see. The Hotel Inspector airs tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.
